Nearly 6 years ago, the term “co-working space” was unfamiliar to me until I learned about @wework. The entrepreneur in me always felt a need to work on creative projects surrounded by others who were doing their passion work, not in isolation at home. There was a time when coffee shops were the closest match that offered this type of community, but I knew Detroit needed something more. Soon local co-working spaces opened such as Bamboo Detroit, Ponyride, Green Garage and Grand Circus all offering entrepreneurs communities to thrive with like-minded individuals. When I learned WeWork was soon calling Detroit home, I was thrilled. It provides do'ers with another environment to cultivate relationships and carry out missions bigger than themselves.
